different lists of share prices on the London Stock Exchange that are published every day in The Financial Times. They are used to show general trends (= changes in a particular direction) in the British financial markets.The best known is the FTSE 100-Share Index, also called the Footsie, which gives the share values of the 100 largest British companies traded on the London Stock Exchange. The newspaper also publishes the FTSE All-Share Index, which gives the share values of almost all British companies.
