born William Lamb (1779-1848) a British Whig politician who was twice Prime Minister (1834 and 1835-41). He is remembered especially for the good relationship he had with Queen Victoria, who was young when he was in power and welcomed the advice he gave her, and for a very public scandal in 1812 when his wife, Lady Caroline Lamb, had a love affair with the poet Lord Byron.
