a book of poems (1798) by William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. It was the first major work of Romantic literature, and contained Wordsworth's Tintern Abbey and Coleridge's . In the second edition (1800) Wordsworth added a famous introduction saying that poetry should be drawn from ordinary life and written in plain language.
