(1925-84) a Welsh actor. He first became famous for his performances of Shakespearian roles in the theatre, and in the 1960s and 1970s he acted in many major British and US films. He was also well known for his relationship with Elizabeth Taylor. They were married and divorced twice, and acted in several successful films together, including Cleopatra and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
