an organization in London, England, that holds the official records relating to dog breeding in Britain. The records prove that particular dogs are ‘pure’ breeds, i.e. have the right features for their breed and are descended from a line of similar animals. The Kennel Club also organizes Crufts dog show, and gives advice on dog health, training and breeding. The American Kennel Club is a similar organization in the US.
