a centre based at the University of Warwick in England, set up by the government to provide educational support to children and young people under 19 who have higher than usual academic abilities. It closed in 2007. The government's Young, Gifted and Talented programme was then run by another organization, but has since been reduced in scale and activities are carried out in individual schools and colleges. In 2007 Warwick University started its own new organization called the International Gateway for Gifted Youth, which is now an online resource.
