  1. 1a rail bridge over the River Tay near Dundee in Scotland. It was completed in 1878 and collapsed (= broke apart and fell down) in 1879 when a train was crossing. It was one of Britain's first serious rail disasters.
  2. 2a second rail bridge over the River Tay near Dundee. It was completed in 1888 and is still in use. A road bridge was built near the rail bridge in the 1960s.
