one of the awards given every year by the US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for achievement in the making of films/movies Culture Academy Awards are presented every March in Los Angeles by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The awards were first presented in 1929 by Douglas Fairbanks. Winners receive a small metal statue, and the most important ones are for ‘Best Actor’, ‘Best Actress’, ‘Best Picture’ and ‘Best Director’.
