Culture Alice in Wonderland was published in 1865. Its full title is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Alice, a young girl, dreams that she follows a white rabbit down its hole and has a series of adventures with imaginary creatures. Some of the characters, such as the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat, are referred to in informal English expressions. There was a second book about Alice, Through the Looking Glass.
