a British magazine, the official magazine of the British Medical Association, which contains medical news, reports on medical research and articles on matters of interest to doctors. It first appeared in 1857 and is published every week. There is also an online edition that is updated every day. BMJ is short for British Medical Journal, which was the former title of the magazine.
