a US animated television comedy series aimed at both children and adults, about four eight-year-old boys in the small town of South Park. Since it started in 1997, it has used satire and black comedy (= dealing with unpleasant things in a humorous way) to include many current issues in its stories and has often caused controversy. It has also included many well-known actors, musicians, politicians, etc. as characters and sometimes uses the voices of the real people.
