a BBC radio programme, which provides complete commentary on every cricket test match (= international match) played in England and some test matches involving the England team in other countries. It also covers some other international cricket games involving England. It began in 1957 and has become almost a national institution. It is known for the humorous style of the commentators when describing each game. Famous commentators have been John Arlott, Brian Johnston and Christopher Martin-Jenkins.
