a US comedy team of three brothers who made films full of crazy visual humour and quick, clever jokes. They were ‚Groucho‘ (Julius) Marx (1890-1977), ‚Chico‘ (Leonard) Marx (1886-1961) and ‚Harpo‘ (Adolph) Marx (1888-1964). Their films included Duck Soup (1933) and A Day at the Races (1937). Groucho wore glasses and a large false moustache, walked in a funny way and smoked cigars. Chico played the piano, wore a pointed hat and spoke like an Italian-American. Harpo never spoke, played the harp and chased girls. Groucho later had his own comedy television quiz show, You Bet Your Life (1950-61).
