a group of Scottish artists whose paintings were first shown in the 1920s and 1930s, who used strong colours to paint objects and landscapes. Members of the group include S J Peploe (1871-1935), F C B Cadell (1883-1947), George Leslie Hunter (1877-1931) and J D Fergusson (1874-1961).
