a famous waterfall on the Niagara River that joins Lake Erie to Lake Ontario on the U.S.–Canadian border. It actually consists of two sections, the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls, separated by Goat Island. Both the U.S.A. and Canada have cities called Niagara Falls, on opposite sides of the Niagara River.
