  1. the former name of the company that used to own and run Britain's major airports. From 2009 for legal reasons BAA had to sell off most of the airports it previously owned and kept only Heathrow Airport as that made up most of its business. As a result, in 2012 BAA changed its name to Heathrow Airport Holdings.
