- (1941-93) one of the most famous English football players of all time, especially because he was captain of the England team which won the World Cup in 1966. For most of his career he played for the London club West Ham (1958-74). In 1963, at the age of 22, he became the youngest ever England captain. In all he played for England 108 times.
