    CultureBuckingham Palace has been the official London home of the UK's king or queen since 1837. It is a very large house, originally built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham, though the part that can be seen from the road was built in 1913. Many tourists stand outside the Palace to watch the ceremony of Changing the Guard, and since 1993 parts of the house have been opened to the public in the summer and on some other days.
