Florenz Ziegfeld

- (1869-1932) a US theatre manager who produced Broadway shows. He is remembered especially for the Ziegfeld Follies, variety shows which he put on each year from 1907 until his death. They included the beautiful 'Ziegfeld Girls' who danced in a long line. Ziegfeld helped the early careers of many performers, including Fred Astaire, Will Rogers and W C Fields. He also produced Show Boat.
