Gene Kelly

- (1912-96) a US film actor, dancer and singer. He became a star in the Broadway musical show Pal Joey (1940). His film successes included On the Town (1949), An American in Paris (1951) and Singin' in the Rain. Kelly later directed films, including Hello, Dolly!(1969). He received a special Oscar in 1951.
