  1. a large, expensive department store in Knightsbridge, London. It was started by Benjamin Harvey in 1831 and has been in its present building since 1894. Harvey Nichols is known for selling fashionable clothes and for its Fifth Floor restaurant. It is often referred to in an informal way as Harvey Nicks. There are also Harvey Nichols shops in some other British cities, as well as shops in various cities across the world.
