    • Learners are not allowed to drive without a licensed driver in the vehicle.
    CultureIn Britain learner drivers may not drive without having a qualified driver with them and must display L-plates (= square signs with a large red letter L on a white background) on the front and back of the vehicle they are driving. Plates with the letter L or P in green are also available, to show that a driver has recently passed the driving test.
