Lee Strasberg

- (1901-82) a US actor and stage director, born in Austria. He directed the Actors' Studio in New York City from 1948 to 1982 and is remembered for training actors in method acting. His many students included Marlon Brando, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson and Jane Fonda.
