- (1942-2013) a US pop singer who played the guitar and wrote songs, many of which had serious or disturbing themes. He began in 1967 with the Velvet Underground pop group before following a career on his own. His successful albums included Transformer (1972), New York (1989), Songs for Drella (1990) and The Raven (2003).
