Louis MacNeice

/ˌluːi məkˈniːs/
- (1907-63) a Northern Irish poet. His books of verse include Blind Fireworks (1929) and Autumn Journal (1939), but he is perhaps best known for his radio play The Dark Tower (1947) and his friendship with the poet W H Auden, with whom he wrote Letters from Iceland (1937). He also translated ancient Greek poetry.
