  1. (1922-2011) a British artist, born in Germany. He is well known for his harshly realistic paintings of people including lovers, friends and members of his family. He also painted portraits of famous people including the Queen and Kate Moss. Freud was the grandson of the Austrian psychiatrist Sigmund Freud.
