Natural England

- a British organization that advises the government on the natural environment in England and how to protect it. It also helps communities to improve their local environment and encourages people to enjoy the natural world. It is responsible for managing most National Nature Reserves and sites of special scientific interest and decides whether an area should become a National Park or Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The organization was formed in 2006 from parts of the separate organizations English Nature, the Rural Development Service and the Countryside Agency.
