Peter Rachman

- (1919-62) a British landlord (= man who owns rented property), who became widely known for his harsh treatment of his tenants (= people living in rented property) in London in the 1950s, charging high rents and sometimes threatening people with violence. Treating tenants badly is sometimes called Rachmanism.
