- a part of Westminster Abbey where many famous English writers are buried or where there are memorials to them. The writers and poets buried there include Chaucer, Browning, Tennyson, Dickens, Hardy and Kipling. There are also memorials to Shakespeare, Milton, Byron, Shelley and many others.
