- a US film (1960) directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Anthony Perkins played Norman Bates, a man suffering from a mental illness who owns a hotel and kills people who stay there. The scene in which he kills a woman in a shower is considered one of the most frightening ever filmed. Perkins later played Bates in three more films.
