It has been used to commit sexual assaults by being given to victims without their knowledge, for example in a drink. The drug makes people relax and causes amnesia (= when somebody cannot remember what has happened to them). Rohypnol tablets have now been changed so that they turn blue when added to liquids.Word Origin1970s: invented name.
