  1. a US rock music magazine, known especially for its interviews with famous singers and musicians. It began in 1967 in San Francisco. Its name came from the words of a Bob Dylan song. As well as featuring articles and blogs, the Rolling Stone website gives users access to articles about musicians past and present, with images and sound files. It also contains a complete collection of all the Rolling Stone magazines that were ever published.
