the Civic Trust

- a British organization that aimed to preserve and improve the environment, for example by giving awards to good modern architecture and supporting hundreds of local societies. It was started in 1957 and closed in 2009, although the Civic Trust Awards continue. A new organization called Civic Voice was set up in 2010.
