- a US organization that supported doctors who help people to end their own lives when they want to do so because they have a serious illness that cannot be cured. The organization was established in 1980 and campaigned for changes in the law. It later changed its name to End-of-Life Choices, and in 2007 joined with another organization called Compassion in Dying to become Compassion & Choices.
