  1. a US space centre at Clear Lake, Texas, near Houston. NASA has its Mission Control there for space flights with people on them. It was established in 1961 as the Manned Spacecraft Center, but the name was later changed to honour President Lyndon B Johnson, who was from Texas. It is also known as the Johnson Space Center, or JSC.
