the South Circular

/ðə ˌsaʊθ ˈsɜːrkjələr/
- a series of roads that join together and pass through many areas of South London. They join the North Circular at the Thames, east and west of London, to form a full circle around London. Until the M25 was built they formed the main road round London. They still carry a lot of traffic, which often moves very slowly.
