- a popular British television series for children, first shown in the 1960s. The puppet characters included Lady Penelope and the scientist Brains. The stories were about the Thunderbirds International Rescue Service, which rescues people in space using special aircraft, vehicles and technical inventions. A film was made with live actors in 2004.
