  1. a British right-wing political party, created in 1993, which supported Britain leaving the EU. It has had a number of elected members of the London Assembly, and in 2014 gained its first seats in the House of Commons, although by 2017 it had no Members of Parliament. In 2014 it came first in the British elections for the European Parliament with 24 MEPs, ahead of the Conservative and Labour parties, but in 2019 it no longer had any MEPs.
