/ˌɑːrtʃi ˈbʌŋkər/
- the main character in the popular US television comedy series All in the Family (1971-6). He is often bad-tempered and has very old-fashioned opinions, especially about people of a different race or social class to his own. The series aimed to make fun of the typical attitudes of white working-class Americans. The character of Bunker was copied from the British television character Alf Garnett.
