Arlington National Cemetery

/ˌɑːrlɪŋtən ˌnæʃnəl ˈseməteri/
- the most famous national cemetery in the US. It contains the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior and the grave of President John F Kennedy. More than 160 000 Americans who were killed in wars are also buried there as well as politicians and other well-known people. It is in Arlington, Virginia, outside Washington, DC and was begun in 1864. In 1997 a Women in Military Service for America Memorial was put up at the entrance to the cemetery.
