  1. (1485-1536) a Spanish princess who in 1509 became the first wife of King Henry VIII of England. They had six children, all of whom died soon after being born except for Mary I. Henry wanted a son to be the next king, and had the marriage annulled in 1533. The Pope did not agree with this, and the Reformation was a result of the divorce.
