- (1888-1955) a US author and public speaker. He is best known for his book How to Win Friends and Influence People (1936), a guide on how to achieve success in life. It is still in print and is probably the most successful book of its kind ever written. Carnegie also wrote How to Stop Worrying and Start Living (1948), and established the Carnegie Institute for Effective Speaking and Human Relations.
