- a character in humorous cartoons by Jim Davis. Garfield is a very lazy cat who eats a lot of lasagne (= a type of pasta) and hates Mondays. There have been two films: Garfield: The Movie in 2004 and Garfield: a Tail of Two Kitties in 2006, and there have also been many cartoon film versions.
