- a US musical play about the love affairs of young people, especially Danny and Sandy, in a high school in the early days of rock and roll. The title refers to the hair oil used by the boys. In the successful film version (1978) John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John played the main parts. Grease 2 (1982) with different actors was less successful.
