  1. a military air base in southern England. In the 1980s when the British government agreed to keep US nuclear missiles there, a large group of women set up a camp around it to protest against the weapons. Many of the women were arrested several times, but they usually returned to the camp. Some stayed there until the weapons were taken away in 1991
    • She was one of the original Greenham Common women.
