- (1916-2003) a US actor with a pleasant deep voice who usually played honest, good men. He won an Oscar playing the part of a southern lawyer in To Kill a Mockingbird. His other films include Spellbound (1945), Duel in the Sun (1946), Gentleman's Agreement (1947), The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit (1956), Moby Dick (1956), The Omen (1976) and Other People's Money (1991).
