Jesse James

- (1847-82) a US outlaw (= criminal) from the state of Missouri. With his brother Frank (1843-1915) he led the 'James band', robbing banks and trains between 1866 and 1879. Jesse was finally shot in the back and killed by one of his former friends who wanted to collect the reward for his death that was offered by the state. Frank later lived on a farm. There have been many books and films about the James brothers.
