- (1923-2016) a popular British radio broadcaster who had his own programme every morning from Monday to Friday on Radio 2 (1973-2002). It combined popular music and other entertainment with discussion of news items and interviews with politicians. Young began his career as a singer and he was also one of the original disc jockeys on Radio 1 when it was established in 1967. He was made a knight in 2002.
