  1. John Davison Rockefeller (1839-1937) a US businessman who became very rich as the owner and President of the Standard Oil Company. In 1911 he gave the business to his only son, John D Rockefeller Junior (1874-1960) and then gave about $500 million of his own money for good causes. He established the Rockefeller Foundation and the University of Chicago (1892).
