Kate Millett

- (1934-2017) a US writer and feminist (= person who believes strongly that women should have the same rights and opportunities as men). Her book Sexual Politics (1970) was a major influence on the women's campaign for equal rights. Her other books include Flying (1974), The Loony Bin Trip (1990), about her mental health problems, and Mother Millett (2001), about her relationship with her mother.
